Dr. Priya Lalvani<\/a>, Professor in the Teaching and Learning Department<\/a>, was recently interviewed by NJ Spotlight News\u00a0<\/em>regarding teaching ableism and disability issues in the classroom.<\/p>\n People with disabilities are the largest minority group in the United States, yet advocates say they\u2019re left out of the conversation when it comes to understanding their contributions to society. A law was passed that requires school districts to teach about the contributions of disabled people throughout history.<\/p>\n
