They gain hands-on experience researching and developing news stories as well as taping and post-production-packaging interviews and news segments. They also work with show principals to contribute to the\u00a0<em>NJ Today<\/em>\u00a0news program which is broadcast nightly on public television throughout the Tri-state area.<\/p>\n<p>For more information about College of the Arts internships and career development resources, go to:\u00a0<a href=\"\/arts\/student-services\/college-career-services\/\" title=\"Home%20%BB%20Montclair%20State%20%BB%20College%20of%20the%20Arts%20%BB%20Student%20Services%20%BB%20College%20Career%20Services\">College of the Arts Career Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><a name=\"lph\"><\/a>Lambda Pi Eta Honor Society (LPH)<\/h2>\n<h3>Overview<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association\u2019s official student honor society, based at four-year colleges and universities across the country, including 星空无限传媒 University.<\/p>\n<p>With more than 400 chapters nationally, LPH embraces goals to:<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic achievement in communication studies<\/li>\n<li>Stimulate interest in the field of communication<\/li>\n<li>Promote and encourage professional development among communication majors<\/li>\n<li>Provide opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the field of communication<\/li>\n<li>Establish and maintain closer relationships among faculty and students<\/li>\n<li>Explore options for graduate education in communication studies<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>To learn more about LPH at the national level, go to:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.natcom.org\/LambdaPiEta\">National Communication Association \u2013 Lambda Pi Eta<\/a><\/p>\n<p>At 星空无限传媒 University, the\u00a0<strong><em>Zeta Chapter<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0of LPH works hard to promote interaction and camaraderie among students in the Communication programs.\u00a0 LPH activities include fundraising efforts to raise money for scholarships; organizing students to attend professional conferences; giving support to the academic programs; and providing opportunities for students to share their scholarship with the broader community.<\/p>\n<p>Guidelines and applications for LPH membership are available in the School\u2019s main office.<\/p>\n<h3>Scholarships<\/h3>\n<p>LPH offers two scholarships each spring semester: (1)\u00a0<em>Lambda Pi Eta Zeta Chapter Academic Scholarship<\/em>\u00a0and (2)\u00a0<em>Thomas Veenendall Memorial Scholarship<\/em>.\u00a0 To be considered for a scholarship, communication studies majors must complete an application form available in the School\u2019s main office.<\/p>\n<p><strong>星空无限传媒 University Chapter \u2013 LPH Contact:<br \/>\n<\/strong><a href=\"mailto:penneyj@mail.montclair.edu\">Dr. Joel Penney<\/a><br \/>\n973-655-4261<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2><strong><a name=\"prssa\"><\/a>Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is the foremost organization designed to serve students interested in public relations and communications \u2013 with more than 300 university chapters and 10,000 participants nationwide.\u00a0 It is a professional-development organization for students, under the umbrella of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), the world\u2019s largest and foremost organization of public relations professionals.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, 星空无限传媒 University became the fifth university in New Jersey to be granted a PRSSA chapter.
