No matter how you commute we&#8217;ve got you covered.<\/p>\n<h2>Driving Commuters<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Be sure to check your engine coolant and antifreeze levels to keep your engine from freezing.<\/li>\n<li>Keep a shovel, ice scraper, an extra pair of gloves and a flashlight in your trunk at all times.<\/li>\n<li>Inflate your tires to the recommended tire pressure for better car handling in the snow and rain.<\/li>\n<li>Leave 20 minutes earlier than usual so you\u2019re prepared for any detours or closed roads you may encounter.<\/li>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theparkerapp.com\/\">Parker app<\/a> to help you find where parking is available on campus to shorten your ride.<\/li>\n<li>Talk with your professors about their expectations regarding class cancellations, or if classes ever would be held remotely (if not already an online course).<\/li>\n<li>Consider carpooling with a friend.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Transit Commuters<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Check into bus\/train options from your home to campus using Google Maps or the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.waze.com\/\"> Waze app<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure you have an up-to-date schedule and know when an earlier bus\/train will come.<\/li>\n<li>Sign up for text or email alerts so you know of major changes to all schedules<\/li>\n<li>Download the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.njtransit.com\/var\/var_servlet.srv?hdnPageAction=NJTAppTo\"> NJ Transit App<\/a> to find time arrival and departure information this will reduce time spent waiting.<\/li>\n<li>Wear proper attire by layering up and wearing tights or long johns under your regular clothing<\/li>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uber.com\/a\/carousel-vs-1?var=uni5&amp;exp=70612_t2&amp;city_name=new_jersey&amp;utm_source=AdWords_Brand&amp;utm_campaign=search-google-brand_1_198_us-newjersey_d_txt_acq_cpc_en-us_uber_kwd-169801042_260780723496_22880758120_e_c_track-apr25playstore_restructure&amp;cid=271810240&amp;adg_id=22880758120&amp;fi_id=&amp;match=e&amp;net=g&amp;dev=c&amp;dev_m=&amp;cre=260780723496&amp;kwid=kwd-169801042&amp;kw=uber&amp;placement=&amp;tar=&amp;gclid=EAIaIQobChMIhrO_nvKg2gIVwlcNCh09kgrkEAAYASAAEgKxPfD_BwE&amp;gclsrc=aw.ds&amp;dclid=CM20ocXyoNoCFcy0swodUc0NEw\">Uber<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lyft.com\/\">Lyft<\/a>\u00a0apps on your mobile device for easy accessibility in the case that you need a taxi.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Biking Commuters<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Invest in wider tires specifically for winter surfaces that can be wet or icy. Wider tires help with traction and control during the winter.<\/li>\n<li>Your hands, feet and head get colder faster than the rest of your body. Be sure to wear proper gloves, socks and a hat to go under your helmet.<\/li>\n<li>Be sure to wear neon reflective clothing when riding in the streets and always have reflectors or lights in the front and back of your bike.<\/li>\n<li>Remember to always check the weather before leaving the house to determine if riding your bike is the best commuting option.<\/li>\n<li>When riding in winter conditions breaking or turning can cause you to slide.
