{"id":32,"date":"2018-05-07T19:25:53","date_gmt":"2018-05-07T19:25:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cssee\/?page_id=32"},"modified":"2024-09-10T15:22:12","modified_gmt":"2024-09-10T19:22:12","slug":"undergraduate-teacher-education-program","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/cssee\/undergraduate-teacher-education-program\/","title":{"rendered":"Undergraduate Teacher Education Program"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Teacher Education Overview<\/h2>\n<p>At 星空无限传媒 University, students who seek to obtain a bachelor\u2019s degree and teacher certification must declare a major and select one of three certification areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Early Childhood (Preschool \u2013 Grade 3)<\/li>\n<li>Elementary (Kindergarten \u2013 Grade 6)<\/li>\n<li>Secondary Education (Preschool \u2013 Grade 12).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students interested in obtaining both a bachelor\u2019s degree and a master\u2019s degree may apply for the Combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Master\u2019s Program with Dual Certification. Graduates of the Combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Masters\u2019 Program are certified to teach one of the initial certification areas (P-3, K-6 or a P-12) and Teacher of Students with Disabilities.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Eligibility Criteria<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Requirements for the Teacher Education Program may vary by certification or degree program; however, for full consideration, all applicants must show evidence of the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Admission to 星空无限传媒 University &#8211; \u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/admissions\/\">Undergraduate Admissions<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Completion of 60 semester hours of earned college credit<\/li>\n<li>Meeting overall GPA of 3.0 for applicants to a single certification program or 3.25 for applicants to the Combined Bachelor\u2019s\/Master\u2019s Program with Dual Certification<\/li>\n<li>Meeting the minimum GPA in the respective major.<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrating evidence of satisfactory written and oral skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>An applicant with an overall major GPA of 2.75 or better may apply for admission and must complete the Supplemental Essay as part of the application process.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Questions about Teacher Education?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>For questions about the application process, please contact the Office of Teacher Education Admissions, Recruitment and Diversity by email at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:TEadmissions@montclair.edu\">TEadmissions@montclair.edu<\/a>, by phone at <a href=\"tel:9736557976\">973-655-7976<\/a>, or by visiting us in Teacher Education Student Services, University Hall, Suite 1180.
