Students Can Win $10,000 Pitch Prize
Posted in: Events
Want a shot at winning a slice of a $10,000 prize? If you are a ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ student with a great entrepreneurial idea, you can enter the university’s annual student pitch contest, which has a $10,000 prize. The contest’s official name is BulbHead.com Bright Ideas Inventors Day for Aspiring Entrepreneurs.
Here’s the scoop:
ELIGIBILITY: Open to any currently enrolled ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ student, undergrad or grad. Individual students can’t pitch; they must be part of a student team (minimum of two ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ students on a team). Everyone on the team must be a ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ student. Student teams can receive outside help (ie, they may bring onboard a non-MSU student to be a web developer or advisor) but only ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ students can pitch for the prize. ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ students who pitched in this contest in the past are eligible, and can even keep the same team intact; however, they need to pitch a completely new idea.
Anyone who does not follow the rules will be automatically eliminated (examples of why a team might be eliminated: video longer than 2 minutes, exec summary longer than one page, required info missing from executive summary, etc. Note that these are examples, not a full list.). Video and exec summary are due by 5 p.m. March 15 to PitchContest@montclair.edu. Students must use their ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ email address when applying.  By April 1, students will be notified if they move on to the prelim round of the May 3 pitch contest.
