Starting Spring 2025<\/strong>, “Montclair Syllabus” (Simple Syllabus) will be the only<\/strong> syllabus tool available to faculty in Canvas courses. The native Canvas syllabus tool will not be available in Spring 2025 courses and future terms. It will be available for Fall 2024 and prior term courses.\n

Note:<\/strong>\u00a0Selecting “All Content” when copying a Canvas course will copy the course menu layout. If you were not previously using \u201cMontclair Syllabus,\u201d it will become hidden. To prevent this from happening, use the “Select Specific Content” option for your course copy and then do not select “Settings” for copying. This ensures \u201cMontclair Syllabus\u201d does not become hidden.<\/p>\n

Enable Montclair Syllabus in Your Course From Course Navigation<\/h3>\n

Note:\u00a0<\/strong>“Montclair Syllabus” is a default menu item. Only use these instructions if “Montclair Syllabus” becomes disabled in your course.<\/p>\n

  1. Click on Settings<\/strong> in the course navigation.<\/li>\n
  2. Click on the Navigation<\/strong> tab.<\/li>\n
  3. Locate \u201cMontclair Syllabus\u201d under the section \u201cDrag items here to hide them from students\u201d at the bottom of the page.<\/li>\n
  4. Click on the 3 dots and choose Enable<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>

    You can also move \u201cMontclair Syllabus\u201d to the top of the navigation menu to make it easier for students to find by clicking and dragging.<\/p>\n
