Christopher Matthews, curator of \u201cThe Black Freedom Struggle in Northern New Jersey (1613-1860),\u201d will address the struggle for voting rights in 19th-century New Jersey. James E. Harris will speak to the efforts of the <span id=\"m_3283708100618020331gmail-m_705234536844278661m_2229942225655046546:4yk.10\"><span id=\"m_3283708100618020331gmail-m_705234536844278661:569.12\"><span id=\"m_3283708100618020331:7d0.3\">Montclair<\/span><\/span><\/span> Branch of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People to advance voting rights. Andra Gillespie, author of The<em> New Black Politician: Cory Booker, Newark, and Post-Racial America<\/em> (2012), will review a the history of voter suppression in the United States&#8211;including the recent Georgia Senate Bill 202.
