{"id":7283,"date":"2026-03-02T10:40:39","date_gmt":"2026-03-02T15:40:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/library\/?p=7283"},"modified":"2026-03-02T10:40:39","modified_gmt":"2026-03-02T15:40:39","slug":"orlando-and-women-writers-online-free-for-the-month-of-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.montclair.edu\/library\/2026\/03\/02\/orlando-and-women-writers-online-free-for-the-month-of-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Orlando and Women Writers Online: Free for the Month of March"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In celebration of Women\u2019s History Month, we\u2019re pleased to offer <strong>free access throughout March<\/strong> to <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/orlando.cambridge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Orlando: Women\u2019s Writing in the British Isles from the Beginnings to the Present<\/a> and <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/wwo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women Writers Online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Orland Platform<\/h2>\n<p>To log in, <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/orlando.cambridge.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">visit the Orlando site<\/a> and use the following credentials:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Email:<\/strong> OrlandoOpen@ualberta.ca<br \/>\n<strong>Password:<\/strong> free-Orlando<\/p>\n<p>Orlando offers a richly detailed cultural history built from the lives and works of women writers.<\/p>\n<p>The resource currently includes:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>More than 1,400 author entries<\/li>\n<li>Tens of thousands of chronology and bibliographic records<\/li>\n<li>Millions of semantic tags<\/li>\n<li>References to over 31,000 individuals and 8,700 organizations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>The platform is maintained in collaboration with University of Alberta.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Women Writers Online (WWO)<\/h2>\n<p>The <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/wwo\/\" target=\"_blank\">Women Writers Online (WWO)<\/a> collection features 475 texts written or translated by women between 1526 and 1850. Alongside WWO, the Women Writers Project provides several always\u2013open-access resources, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/context\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Women Writers in Context<\/em><\/a> (Nearly 150 scholarly essays on early women\u2019s writing)<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/review\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Women Writers in Review<\/em><\/a> (Close to 700 historical reviews and responses to WWO authors)<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/lab\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>WWP Lab<\/em><\/a> (Tools, visualizations, and experimental research on women\u2019s writing)<\/li>\n<li><a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/wwp.northeastern.edu\/wwo\/teaching\/pedagogical-dev.html\" target=\"_blank\">Additional teaching materials<\/a> developed with collaborators and instructors.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>New users can explore these resources through the project\u2019s <a rel=\"noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wwp.northeastern.edu\/about\/welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\">Welcome Page<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In celebration of Women\u2019s History Month, we\u2019re pleased to offer free access throughout March to Orlando: Women\u2019s Writing in the British Isles from the Beginnings to the Present and Women Writers Online.
