Profile

Jaime Grinberg, Ph. D., is a Full Professor of Educational Foundations at 星空无限传媒 University and a former department Chairperson. He also served as Acting Associate Dean for Academic Affairs in the College of Education and Human Services. Dr. Grinberg directed a school-university partnership (NJNER) involving 23 school districts and 星空无限传媒 University. Nationally, he served as Chair of the Committee on Standards for the Council of Learned Societies in Education.

He received his Ph.D. from Michigan State University, with a focus on educational policy, history, and teacher education. His undergraduate degree is from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, specializing in Latin American social and political history, and his MA is from Eastern Michigan University, focusing on educational psychology and evaluation. Born in Argentina, he lived in Uruguay, Israel, Michigan, and New Mexico before moving to New Jersey.

His current research addresses the socio-historical, political, and philosophical foundations of educational and social policy and theory. He published nine books and anthologies, including "Teaching Like That: The Beginnings of Teacher Education at Bank Street" (2005), "Successful Teaching" (2017, with D. Schwarzer), "Understanding Glocal Contexts" (2019, with D. Schwarzer), and "Philosophy of Education: Modern and Contemporary Ideas at Play" (2022, with D. Rogers & M.R. Gregory, 3rd edition). He has written more than 100 papers, research handbook chapters, and book chapters in English and Spanish. He is often interviewed by TV, radio, and other media outlets to discuss current events and educational matters, in Spanish and English.

He teaches classes in historical, political, and socio-cultural aspects of education with an international dimension. Professor Grinberg has taught and lectured in Argentina, Mexico, Israel, and the US, among many other places. He has served on the faculty at the University of New Mexico and Eastern Michigan University and as a Visiting Professor at Kibbutzim College in Israel.

Since 2023, Professor Grinberg has been the editor of "Inquiry: Critical Thinking Across the Disciplines," an online open-access refereed academic journal.
