If you need or prefer to take classes offered completely online see the &#8220;Online Instruction&#8221; section below.<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HawkLIVE (HLV): <\/strong>Face-to-face (F2F), synchronous instruction held simultaneously in-person and online. Due to limitations to the number of people allowed to be present in a classroom at one time, expect a regular, rotating schedule. <strong>You must come in or log in to your class during the days and times listed on your schedule.<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>HawkFIELD (HFD): <\/strong>Courses that have off-campus, field elements and often class sessions for mentoring and supervision, for example, student teaching clinical activities, internships, co-ops and the like.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Please Note:<\/strong> Look carefully for any location, day, or time requirements when registering for class.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">Online Instruction<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\"><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>HawkSYNC Online &#8211; Synchronous (SON): <\/strong>A fully online class that meets at specific days and times and requires you to log on to be remotely &#8220;in class&#8221; with your instructor and classmates.<\/li>\n<li><strong>HawkASYNC Online &#8211; Asynchronous (AON): <\/strong>A fully online class that does not require you to log on at a specific day or time. Your instructor will create assignments and deadlines for you to complete and meet in your own time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer\"><div class=\"prpl-drawer-header\">How to See What Modality You Registered For<\/div><div class=\"prpl-drawer-content\">\n<figure class=\"responsive-image-holder wp-caption alignnone\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"mlt-responsive-image\" data-original-image=\"\/red-hawk-central\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2021\/01\/active-registration.png\" src=\"\/responsive-media\/cache\/red-hawk-central\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/59\/2021\/01\/active-registration.png.0.1x.generic.jpg\" alt=\"Screenshot of a students registered classes\"\/><\/figure>\n<h2><a name=\"how-to\"><\/a><br \/>\nHow to Search for Instruction Modalities<\/h2>\n<p>Did you know you can search for classes on <a href=\"http:\/\/nest.montclair.edu\">NEST<\/a> by modalities?<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Log into NEST<\/li>\n<li>Click on the Registrar Office Tools page under Registration on the side navigation menu.<\/li>\n<li>Click on the University Schedule of Classes under the Registrar&#8217;s Office Tools<\/li>\n<li>Click on browse classes, then select a TERM, click on advanced search and under \u201cInstructional Method\u201d in the browse classes search for specific instruction modalities.
