CCOM Career Services in the College of Communication and Media aims to provide a comprehensive approach to career exploration for students and alumni. Our team will prepare you for the real world by providing professional preparation so that you can secure internship opportunities, and help you land your first job. Services include individualized consultation to help students develop the necessary cutting edge skills needed to achieve career success, all housed in our world-class, state-of-the art facilities.

Process for Scheduling Appointments

Click on Career Center located on the left-hand side of your Handshake homepage
Click on Appointments, located under �ǿ��޴�ý University’s logo
Click the blue box: Schedule a New Appointment
Select College of Communication and Media (CCOM) and then select the Type of appointment you would like to schedule
A list of available appointment dates will appear based on the category and type selected. From this page, you can use the Category, Type, Staff Member, and Appointment Medium (in person or virtual) menus to change selections and choose from available appointment options.
Select the time and appointment type that works best for your career needs. When you’re ready, click the Green Request button in the lower-right corner of the screen.
Once approved, you will receive a notification via email. You will also receive a reminder email 24 hours and 1 hour in advance of your scheduled appointment time. If you requested a virtual appointment, the Zoom link will be provided in the confirmation.

Office Hours

Career Services, College of Communication and Media is open Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 4:30 PM by appointment only.

The CCOM Career Services Office is located in Morehead Hall, Rooms 217 & 219.

For Students

CCOM Career Services assists students in finding, securing and getting the most value from internship-type experiences, including Cooperative Education internships, Department-based internships, self-initiated internships and/or professional volunteer experiences. In all cases, such opportunities provide on-the-job-training related to your major and are an excellent means of “testing” a career interest in a discipline-applied setting. Internships also provide a great way to establish professional contacts for career transitioning following graduation.
