Program (Academic Year and Summer Program)

Academic Year

The Upward Bound Project at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ University serves 52 high school students annually.

During the academic year, participants attend the program on Saturdays. The Saturday academic component runs from September through May. Saturday sessions run from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. During these sessions students receive the following services:

  • academic reinforcement in:
    • mathematics (e.g. pre-calculus, calculus, geometry, statistics and algebra I & II)
    • the sciences (e.g. biology, chemistry, physics)
    • English / Language Arts
  • one-on-one tutoring
  • financial literacy
  • peer leadership training
  • team building activities
  • personal development
  • cultural field trips
  • college campus visits
  • counseling
  • mentoring

Summer Program

During the summer program, students are exposed to six (6) weeks of classes from June to August, Monday through Friday, at ÐÇ¿ÕÎÞÏÞ´«Ã½ University. Participants will become familiar with some of the aspects of life on a college campus. They will attend classes in language arts, mathematics, sciences, computer literacy, SAT test preparatory as well as everything offered during the academic year, listed above.
